Production Manager- Meat Processing Plant

Job Description

We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team! You will oversee the activities of a team of production workers at a growing meat processing company.

This is a 1st shift opportunity with a start time of 4am. Overtime and weekend availability is a must.

This position requires the ability to work in a cooler / freezer environment.

Responsibilities :

• Coordinate the daily activities of the production and operation teams.
• Delegate production assignments to appropriate teams and personnel.
• Place production orders from customers.
• Inspect all materials and equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Develop methods for tracking individual and department performance in safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and costs.
• Review production requirements and daily schedules to ensure timely and complete order fulfillment.
• Oversee a production shift in the absence of a shift supervisor.
• Review and improve production methods continually.
• Develop production department budgets and coordinate with other department heads for overall company budgeting.
• Coordinate with the Merchandising department on inventory levels.
• Monitor labor costs across all production departments.
• Supervise, train, coach, develop, and discipline direct reports.
• Monitor items used in production, aiming to eliminate waste and conserve resources.
• Review daily production schedules and make adjustments to meet deadlines.
• Oversee and monitor production throughout the shift.
• Seek productivity improvements to stay competitive.
• Manage labor costs during shifts and adjust as needed.
• Plan ahead by scheduling labor to fulfill orders and maintain stock levels.
• Propose and implement efficiency improvements in production processes.
• Enforce safety guidelines and train employees accordingly.
• Create a positive work environment to motivate the team.
