Overview
We're seeking a Strategic Buyer, a key role to supporting the company's operational expansion and building a robust supplier network. This position will help shape sourcing strategies that balance performance, quality, and cost, while supporting both local and global stakeholders.
Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor , you will take part in both operational and development-focused purchasing activities, with an emphasis on building a strong supplier network and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management & Development
- Manage and update the portfolio of existing suppliers
- Identify and qualify key manufacturers and distributors within assigned categories
- Conduct RFQs and source new suppliers based on evolving business needs
- Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier partnerships
- Represent Quipment and its values in all supplier interactions
- Collect, manage, and share relevant product and supplier information using appropriate tools
- Ensure all required documentation and certifications are obtained for commercialization
- Conduct market research to assess U.S. supplier opportunities and trends
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement monitoring tools
- Contribute to procurement KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to align sourcing strategies and objectives
Your qualifications :
A college degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related disciplineAt least five years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or Aerospace sectors.Demonstrated expertise in sourcing strategies, vendor assessment, and cost managementProficiency in ERP systems, especially SAP (is a plus).Advanced Excel capabilities, including data analysis and dashboard reportingIn-depth knowledge of the U.S. supplier market and purchasing trendsExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain strong supplier and internal stakeholder relationshipsProven ability to work autonomously with a structured, analytical mindsetCommitted to continuous improvement and operational excellence in purchasing processesEEO Statement
