Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive-level leadership in construction program management, aligning projects with institutional goals, campus master plans, and strategic priorities.
- Lead the development of long-range facilities and infrastructure plans in collaboration with University leadership.
- Serve as a senior advisor to the Vice President for CFRE on all major capital construction and planning initiatives.
- Direct all phases of capital construction projects, from programming through design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and University standards.
- Oversee coordination with contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and periodic updates of the Campus Master Plan, both on and off UF's main campus.
- Coordinate land-use planning, space utilization, and infrastructure development to support growth and innovation.
- Supervise the University Architect, ensuring consistent design excellence, historical preservation, and alignment with campus architectural guidelines.
- Approve design concepts, materials, and aesthetics for all major projects to maintain campus cohesion.
- Develop and manage multi-million-dollar capital project budgets, ensuring fiscal accountability and transparency.
- Identify funding strategies and leverage resources for capital priorities.
- Provide project programming, estimating, and financial reporting for CIP funding and budgeting.
- Represent UF in meetings with state agencies, governing boards, and community stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
Capital Project Oversight

Develop and manage multi-million-dollar capital project budgets, ensuring fiscal accountability and transparency.Identify funding strategies and leverage resources for capital priorities.Board Reporting & Project Financials
Responsible for Board of Trustees reporting and project financials. Ensure accurate records and documentation in support of the State of Florida's capital processes, including the Capital Improvement Plan, Capital Improvement Trust Fund, Educational Plant Survey, and Carryforward Spending Plan. Has oversight of fee developer models and other innovative construction delivery methods.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
Represent UF in meetings with state agencies, governing boards, and community stakeholders.Foster a culture of collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.Work Hours
Monday through Friday position. Expected attendance is eight (8) hours per day with normal work hours between 7 : 00 AM and 5 : 00 PM. Alterations to normal work hours, either temporary or permanent, must be approved by the Vice President of Construction, Facilities & Real Estate. After hours or weekends may be required as part of normal work hours.
Driver License & Background Check
Drives a State Vehicle that requires a valid Driver License. A criminal background will be conducted.
Expected Salary
Expected starting salary $235,000 - $250,000 yearly based on experience.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management or 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in large-scale construction management, master planning, and facilities administration.Florida Professional Engineer (PE), Architect (RA) license or General Contractors License.Experience with State University System of Florida capital project requirements and the State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF).Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously in a higher education or similar institutional environment.Significant private construction industry experience.Strategic vision and long-term planning ability.Strong leadership and team-building skills.Expertise in construction delivery methods, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in design and construction.Application Instructions
