About the Company : WineTalent is working with a well-respected wine and spirits importer and distributor. The company is looking to expand their domestic wine portfolio team. The role is based in New York City.
About the Position : The US Portfolio Manager will oversee the company’s prestigious domestic wine portfolio. The US Portfolio Manager will work closely with suppliers, manage wine inventories, create and oversee sales strategies while managing the portfolio team.
Responsibilities :
- Direct commercial strategies for portfolio of domestic wine brands.
- Lead commercial pricing, budgeting and operational strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships.
- Work with suppliers to establish purchase prices and create incentives that are priced competitively and are profitable.
- Develop omni-channel strategies and supporting budgets and programming to facilitate sales.
- Create and execute purchase orders, maintain satisfactory inventory levels and monitor sales performance.
- Schedule and manage market visits for suppliers.
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of new brand and category launches and partnerships.
- Implement strategic goal setting and execute programs for supplier partners.
- Evaluate current suppliers while also attracting, vetting and onboarding new suppliers as needed to maintain a well-rounded, diverse and sought-after portfolio mix.
- Create forecasts for sales and set priorities for the portfolio and sales teams.
- Set goals and manage the portfolio team by establishing metrics and promoting the accountability of each team member.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or closely related discipline. Work experience in lieu of a college degree will also be considered.At least 10 years of wine industry experience in portfolio management, brand management, sales or beverage program management.Proven team management skills including metric creation, performance monitoring and mentoring.Extensive wine knowledge in addition to an understanding of sales strategies and a dedication to mentoring team members for successExperience in supplier management and business negotiation.Compensation and Benefits :
This is a full-time, salaried position. The salary range is $175,000 to $225,000.Competitive salary plus incentive bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
