Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist
A well-established non-profit organization in New Canaan, CT, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage and oversee all aspects of the accounts payable function. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for supporting the mission of a non-profit organization.
Target compensation : $26 / hr
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist :
The accounts payable specialist will process high volume invoices, check requests, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
Ensure proper coding of invoices and compliance with organizational policies and grant requirements
Maintain vendor records, reconcile statements, and resolve discrepancies
The accounts payable specialist will prepare and process payments via check, ACH, and wire transfers
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to address payment-related inquiries
Support audits by providing documentation and reports as needed
Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist :
At least 3 years of accounts payable experience
Non profit experience
Strong excel skills
