Administrative / Technical Specialist
You will serve as an Administrative / Technical Specialist in the Accounting Division, Comptroller Department of the Naval Surface Warfare Center. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $159,716.00).
Responsibilities include :
- Serving as the Accounting Team lead ensuring that Comptroller processes for accounting are executed in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (NERP) are accurate, timely and compliant.
- Advising or assisting other personnel in the Division and Comptroller Department to develop and implement programs, policies and procedures to ensure compliance in financial operations.
- Analyzing financial system updates and release notes and assessing the impact to existing policies, processes and procedures, implementing changes as necessary.
- Closely monitoring the accounting activities within the Division and providing training and guidance to junior accountants and financial analysts.
- Keeping Accounting Officer apprised of regulatory, policy or system changes that may have an impact on the Command's financial position and offering recommendations for process and / or procedure updates.
- Facilitating weekly on-site meetings to discuss issues / concerns / new updates to processes.
- Ensuring team is trained and understands their assigned workload tasking.
- Supporting and assisting each member with completing tasks within required deadlines as needed.
Requirements include :
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band or grade level (GS-11 / 12) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : analyzing and interpreting accounting data to resolve funding issues ensuring financial operations are in compliance with current laws, rules, and regulations for the sustained support of an organization.Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site.
