- As the Maintenance Manager, you are expected to maintain Grand Prairie’s Core Values in all communications with employees, visitors, & outside service providers.
Role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining all production equipment at maximum capacity and the overall maintenance of your assigned plant. The Maintenance Manager will guarantee that maintenance of all equipment is satisfied in accordance with food safety and machine upkeep. The Maintenance Manager will collaborate with other departments at the eggplant to provide our customers with the best product that adheres to SQF, HACCP, GMP and SOP guidelines.
Responsibilities
Leads staff on assignments, tasks and projects on time and within budgetEnsures a plan for 24 / 7 coverage and emergency reply including equipment repair and stabilizationOversee the speed and repairs to minimize down time, minimize the use of parts / labor and addresses problem proactivelyConducts regular assessments of the manufacturing facilities, repairs / improvementsGuaranteed production operations by labeling work priorities, maintenance schedules and installation of equipmentCommunicate with all staff and provide training and development as neededOversees HVAC, freezer and boiler operationsPurchases, stores and issues all parts for equipment maintenanceWorks closely with plant management, supervisors and QA to resolve maintenance problems and issuesOversee site safety programs, including but not limited to, risk assessments; legal compliance; processes; meetings; and trainingParticipates in all required meetings to ensure the continued success of Grand Prairie FoodsMinimize and monitor downtime and identify areas of improvementMaintains a log of all maintenance ordersPlans day-to-day departmental operationsResponsible for budget, work methods, and authorization of overtime and controls costs.Initiates change in methods and procedures, acts as liaison with other departments, units and organizationsDirects and supervises the planning, analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of site training programs to improve plant / personnel performanceAble to provide troubleshooting for electrical, hydraulic and other equipment and systemsDevelop & Maintains PM program for all production equipment and essential servicesWorks with necessary plant management to develop and implement maintenance procedures and operational control proceduresAllocate resources correctly to maintain R&M budgetMaintain target machine uptimeAuthorize overtime to control labor costsMaintain CMM software system for purposes of tracking work order historyInvolvement in facility, equipment, and process changes; training and mentoring individuals affected by those changesImprove maintenance KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) including maintenance safety, downtime, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and productivityPlans scheduled downtimes, shutdowns, and maintenance projectsManages the execution of major construction and maintenance projectsEnsures all equipment and other maintenance components comply with all local, state, and federal regulationsCreating and fostering a culture that promotes safety as a top priorityEnsure employees are trained on an on-going basis and in compliance with company regulations to ensure work is completed in a safe mannerAvoid work-related accidents; ensure high levels of engagement from all levels of employees within the facility through positive and effective employee relationsCollaborate with the leadership team, providing input for strategic direction and business planningEducation, Work & Training Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred5+ years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing2+ years in a supervisory or leadership roleStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systemsFamiliarity with CMMS, MaintainX a plusKnowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machineryDemonstrate full knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices policies and proceduresDemonstrate knowledge of safety in a manufacturing environmentTechnical knowledge in operation and maintenance of plant management, refrigeration, air conditioning, generators and equipment maintenanceStrong organizational leadership, communication, and project management skillsStrong knowledge of OSHA and related safety issuesComfortability with 480 voltagesPhysical Demands and Work Environment
