JOB TITLE : COMMUNITY RESOURCE SPECIALIST DEPARTMENT : STUDENT CARE & ENGAGEMENT

SALARY RANGE : $45,000-50,000 FLSA : EXEMPT

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : College Director of Student Care & Engagement

SCHEDULE DETAILS : Full-time, 12-month position (PEERS). Primarily Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Some evenings and weekends required.

Position Summary

The Community Resource Specialist (CRS) provides holistic, student-centered support to help students overcome non-academic barriers to success. CRSs connect students with campus and community resources, manage cases submitted through OTC Cares, and assist with outreach efforts related to food security, emergency support, wellness, and financial instability. They are key contributors to student persistence and equity-focused care across all OTC locations.

Essential Job Duties

• Serve as the case manager for students experiencing basic needs or personal circumstances that are impacting their ability to be successful, including but not limited to healthcare, hunger, food access, housing insecurity, transportation limitations, employment, and technology access.
• Uses data to proactively identify and connect students to support resources before a crisis.
• Guide students through steps to access internal and external resources, and provide follow-up support through degree / credential completion.
• Maintain detailed records of student interactions and follow-ups in tracking systems.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local agencies and service providers.
• Coordinate with Counseling, Title IX, Disability Support, Student Success and other college departments and entities to ensure wraparound care throughout the entire student experience.
• Support OTC strategic initiatives related to student care, including those in the Strategic Plan and CRM development.
• Represent OTC at regional coalition meetings and task forces (suicide prevention, resource networks, etc.).
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional supports and referral processes, as well as college supports and processes.
• Lead student-facing initiatives such as : Mobile Pantry coordination, Community Resource Fairs, and Eagle Expo.
• Help plan and implement wellness and basic needs awareness efforts (signage, outreach campaigns, etc.).
• Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
• Comply with college policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.

Environment : Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and / or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.

Physical : Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and / or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
