Position Overview
Highlands Oncology Group is seeking a strategic and visionary HR Director to lead our people function and drive organizational transformation. This full-time role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and offers the opportunity to build foundational HR systems from the ground up across our 800+ employee oncology practice with five clinic locations in Arkansas. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll shape culture, elevate people practices, and partner with executive leadership during a period of growth and change.

What Makes This Role Unique
This isn't your typical HR Director role. You'll have :
Build HR infrastructure and strategy with executive support and resources
Direct access to the CFO and CEO with a seat at the leadership table
Lead critical projects already in motion (Mercer engagement, HRIS implementation)
Shape the people strategy during organizational expansion change
Lead a team while having the freedom to innovate and implement best practices
Key Responsibilities
Immediate Priorities (First 180 Days)
Take full ownership of our ongoing Mercer consulting engagement to establish modern job architecture framework, market-competitive compensation structures, and clear leveling systems that attract and retain top talent
Drive seamless integration of job architecture, compensation data, and organizational structures into our Workforce Go HCM system—turning data into actionable insights
Design and implement a modern performance management system with clear KPIs and OKRs that replaces subjective anniversary-based reviews with objective, growth-oriented conversations that drive accountability and development
Assess current team capabilities, identify growth & development opportunities, and create a roadmap for building a world-class HR function
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Impact
Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business results, inform organizational design decisions, and position us for sustainable growth
Lead our journey to becoming a certified Great Place to Work by aligning people practices with engagement drivers, managing survey processes, and facilitating meaningful action planning that turns insights into cultural transformation
Lead organizational change initiatives for new HR processes and systems across all locations, ensuring smooth adoption while maintaining operational excellence in patient care
Oversee end-to-end recruitment strategy, hiring processes, and onboarding experiences that attract exceptional talent and align with current and future workforce needs
Foster an engaging work environment by guiding thoughtful conflict resolution, championing employee engagement initiatives, and ensuring fair, consistent application of policies that build trust
Create a thriving learning culture by identifying development needs, designing leadership programs, and building career pathways that help employees grow with the organization
Design competitive, equitable total rewards programs informed by market analysis that attract top talent, ensure compliance, and demonstrate our commitment to employee wellbeing
Operational Excellence
Maintain HR policies and practices that exceed federal, state, and local employment law requirements while supporting organizational fairness and ethical standards
Monitor and analyze people data to identify trends, inform strategic decisions, and continuously elevate programs and processes with data-driven insights
Oversee effective use of HRIS and HR tools, ensuring data integrity, process efficiency, and exceptional user experience for employees and managers
Support change management efforts and culture initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and business performance
