Mortgage Systems and Process Tester
The Mortgage Systems and Process Tester with a focus on mortgage loan underwriting will play a critical role in evaluating the effectiveness and reliability of new mortgage processes and technology implementations. This individual will create & execute test plans, identify & document defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system implementation & process optimization.
Your Responsibilities on the Team :
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts to validate new mortgage processes and technologies.
- Execute test cases, analyze results, and document defects in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements.
- Perform thorough assessment through testing to identify any unintended impacts of changes.
- Identify process and technology improvement opportunities and provide recommendations.
- Provide detailed written findings for every aspect of the loan file reviewed, documenting what was tested, how it was verified, and the results obtained.
- Evaluate fraud risk indicators and inconsistencies in documentation or borrower representations.
- Conduct risk analysis and review loans for compliance with agency and investor guidelines.
- Utilize automated underwriting systems (Encompass, Loan Product Advisor, Desktop Underwriter) to assess risk, salability, and reduced documentation for borrowers. Ensure accurate data input and support automated decision-making.
- Apply manual underwriting requirements in decision-making for loans without automated approval.
- Clearly and concisely condition loans appropriately when rendering decisions.
- Provide expertise and coaching to processing and production staff on training issues and automated underwriting systems. Keep management informed of specific ongoing issues that require immediate attention.
Requirements :
Highschool Diploma or EquivalentDE Designation (FHA) OR (VA Automated Designation + LAPP SAR designation (VA))Minimum of 2 years of front line conventional underwriting experience using Fannie Mae DU, Freddie Mac LPA, manual underwriting experience preferredMust be able to read and interpret underwriting guidelines2+ years of experience working in mortgage softwareProficient in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)Purchase transaction, specifically new construction experience preferredExceptional organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projectsA genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences to customersLife at Lennar :
