Job Details The Opportunity This role functions as the Chief Accounting Officer for a complex, multi‑entity global enterprise. Reporting directly to the CFO, the VP of Global Accounting will oversee all aspects of accounting, controllership, reporting, and compliance across 70+ countries. The organization includes roughly 40 direct reports and 700+ indirect across shared service centers and regional finance hubs.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a world‑class accounting organization through modernization and scaling while partnering with executive leadership to drive performance and compliance globally.
Key Responsibilities Lead all global accounting and controllership functions, including GL, consolidations, technical accounting, revenue, cost, and reporting across business units and regions.
Own the global close process — ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
Oversee and enhance SOX controls, internal audit, and enterprise risk management frameworks.
Direct global shared service operations (A / P, A / R, Payroll, GL, and Revenue) across multiple regions.
Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal on M&A, integrations, and cross‑border accounting issues.
Lead finance transformation initiatives, including ERP optimization (SAP / Oracle), automation (BlackLine, Workiva), and process redesign.
Provide executive‑level insight and partnership to the CFO, CEO, and Audit Committee.
Develop and mentor a global accounting team built on excellence, accountability, and innovation.
Ideal Background 15+ years of progressive accounting and controllership leadership, ideally at the VP / CAO level within a multi‑billion‑dollar global company.
Proven success managing large, distributed teams (500+ employees) across international regions.
Deep expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
Demonstrated success in modernizing accounting operations through ERP or automation initiatives.
CPA required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Executive presence and credibility to partner with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
