Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, rotating Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg surgical unit with recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license. Responsibilities Work on a 32-bed surgical Med / Surg unit Care for post-surgical patients including vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery cases Most common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis RN patient ratios are 4 : 1 on days and 5 : 1 on nights LNA patient ratio is 1 : 7-11 shared with PCU Rotating day and night shifts, 36 hours per week Floating to other units required Provide care for complex post-surgical patients with a range of advanced medical needs Work with a collaborative team and share patient responsibilities with PCU staff as needed Unit uses telemetry monitoring for patients as indicated Must maintain an active license and current BLS certification throughout the assignment Requirements Active NH or compact RN license required for consideration Current BLS certification required Recent Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience within the past 2 years required Must have surgical experience, specifically with post-operative care of vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery patients Experience required with chest tubes, complex wounds, central lines, blood draws, trachs / laryngectomies, telemetry, lines / tubes / drains, and drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone) No local candidates allowed; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-610154.
