Position :  Security Officer

Location : 7200 Northwest 62nd Avenue, Johnston, IA 50131

Anticipated Start date : 10 / 06

Duration : 12 Months contract with an extension

Shift :  Availability to primarily work evening shifts (4 : 00 PM – 12 : 00 Midnight), with flexibility to transition to other shifts as business needs and preferences allow.

Pay Rate : $22.00hr on W2

Interview Process : Virtual Interview / Inperson Interview.

Need : Prior experience in security, military, law enforcement, EMS, or corrections, with relevant certifications or education in law enforcement / security.

Job Description :

Position : Security Officer

What You’ll Do :

Investigate security and safety incidents (e.g., thefts, property damage, unsafe practices) and prepare detailed reports for review with the Security Manager.

Provide security services in response to potential external or internal risks, coordinating with local law enforcement when necessary.

Perform surveillance and physical protection assignments as required.

Conduct building tours and property checks to prevent vandalism, fire hazards, or other risks, while controlling access to restricted areas.

Monitor facilities and premises, including :

Ensuring doors, windows, and vaults are secured.

Completing quarterly inspection testing and documentation.

Verifying equipment operation and building parameters.

Monitoring weather conditions and activating employee notification procedures when required.

Conducting monthly building notification system inspections and reporting maintenance issues.

Promote and maintain a safe workplace by attending, participating in, and completing all required safety programs.

Provide traffic control and security support for special events / functions as assigned.

Maintain accurate time logs and prepare detailed incident / accident reports.

Respond promptly to all campus emergency calls.

Report and document security system malfunctions or repair needs.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Education :

High School Diploma or GED required.

What You Need :

Ability to work in varied environments (extreme heat, cold, indoor, and outdoor).

Capability to walk long distances, remain mobile for up to eight hours, climb stairs quickly, lift / carry up to 50 pounds, and maintain situational awareness in both low- and bright-light conditions.

Certification or ability to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.

Successful completion of Corteva’s required security training.

Valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles.

Availability to primarily work evening shifts (4 : 00 PM – 12 : 00 Midnight), with flexibility to transition to other shifts as business needs and preferences allow.

What Will Help You Stand Out :

Prior experience in security, military, law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), or corrections.

Certifications, coursework, or degrees related to law enforcement or security.
