job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPosition is based in the Acute Care Unit (ACU) with a mix of telemetry, med-surg, and DOU patients Fifty-bed unit with patient ratios of 1 : 5 (med-surg), 1 : 4 (telemetry), and 1 : 3 (DOU) Common cases include post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients Night shift hours are 7 : 00pm–7 : 00am, with every other weekend required Travelers are the first to float between med-surg and telemetry within the unit EMR system used is Cerner and prior experience is preferred Telemetry monitoring utilizes Phillips monitors; nurses must be able to interpret strips Non-titrating drips (cardizem, amiodarone), and responsibility for bipap and cpap, but travelers are not assigned to DOU for chronic vents Charge nurse available on the unit, nurse aide support depends on census Duties include caring for a mixed acuity population and administering non-titrating cardiac drips Floor orientation provided with one shift at each facility Scrub color is navy Holiday coverage requires working one major and one minor holiday Hospitalist and intensivist support available, with on-call after hours coverage 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy available Self-scheduling is available but not guaranteed Relias Dysrhythmia exam may be required prior to contract confirmation for some California facilities First-time travelers are welcome to apply Active CA RN license required at the time of application Minimum of 2 years recent acute care telemetry experience Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required COVID-19 vaccination required Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips is essential Copy of driver's license required for consideration Two professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, both verifying employment and rehire eligibility Must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
