Job Summary
The Emergency Management Specialist Principal leads the development and implementation of college emergency operations and continuity plans to ensure institutional preparedness and resilience. This role coordinates hazard assessments, training, and exercises, while managing emergency communication systems and compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. The Specialist serves as a liaison with campus stakeholders and external emergency response agencies, supporting effective communication and incident coordination. During emergencies, the position provides critical response support and leads post-incident reviews to strengthen future preparedness.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in emergency management, homeland security, public safety, fire science, criminal justice, public administration, public policy, occupational safety and health, public health, urban and regional planning, risk management, or a related field, and two (2) years of work experience in a role supporting emergency management, response coordination, or public safety planning which includes independent and collaborative work with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.

An equivalent combination of education and / or experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

This posting is for two positions. Each position will be based out of the District Office but will be assigned to a designated region that will require regular travel. Employees may also be expected to work at locations within their assigned region as needed.
