Position Overview :
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, and supporting industrial automation and control systems across multiple production lines. This role requires hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI design, electrical troubleshooting, and integration of new manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for new and existing equipment
- Program and debug PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with maintenance, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to optimize automation performance
- Support plant upgrades, system integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation for electrical schematics, ladder logic, and network configurations
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (NFPA, OSHA, etc.)
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience in controls or automation engineering within a manufacturing environmentProficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell preferred)Experience with industrial communication networks (EtherNet / IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skillsAbility to work independently and in cross-functional teamsPreferred Experience :
