PRIMARY PURPOSE :
Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under the supervision of a certified teacher(s)
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications :
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
- PAC Test (No Chid Left Behind) / 48 College Hours
- Bilingual Test (if applicable)

Knowledge of general office equipmentLight clerical skillsAbility to work well with school-aged childrenBasic computer skills, i.e. Excel, Word Processing, PublisherExperience :
Some experience working with school-aged childrenMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policyAssist the teacher(s) in preparing instructional materialsWork with individual students or small groups to complete instructional exercises by the teacher(s)Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignmentsAssist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroomKeep the teacher(s) informed of any special needs or problems of individuals studentsAssist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroomAssist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipmentAssist the teacher(s) in keeping administrative records and preparing required reportsParticipate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as neededPerform other duties as may be assignedWORKING CONDITIONS : Mental Demands :
