What you'll do : The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supervising the mechanical design and development of product lines, contributing to project design, development, and prototype production. This role is essential in a cross-functional team, making key design decisions for integration. The Lead Mechanical Engineer mentors junior staff, researches, evaluates, and documents design methods to meet standards and codes, and supports management throughout development. In this role you will :
Qualifications : Required (Basic) Qualifications : Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with Minimum Five (5) years of experience in Mechanical Design OR a Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with a Minimum of Three (3) years work experience in mechanical design. Preferred Qualifications : MastersDegree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. Experience developing large scale power electronics from concept to manufacturing launch. Experience with power distribution system design and protection. Experience working with multi-kW lithium ion energy storage systems including battery management and products designed for outdoor or non-climate controlled environments. In depth knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) techniques. Experience with thermal and structural simulations. Experience with sheet metal design, BoM creation and reading electrical diagrams. Skills : Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and critical thinking to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, Is excellent at honest analysis, Looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers. Decision quality makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
