Associate Director, Graphics Engineering

Treyarch, the studio behind the best-selling Call of Duty : Black Ops franchise, is looking for a Associate Director, Graphics Engineering to join our Core Engine Team. As a Associate Director, Graphics Engineering, you will work with senior leadership to guide an LA based graphics team delivering AAA visuals at 60+hz. In this role you will directly code, debug and optimize shipping features with a small team.

This role is an onsite work position, and the home studio for this role is in Los Angeles, CA.

What you bring to the table

The video game industry and therefore our business is fast-paced and will continue to evolve. As such, the duties and responsibilities of this role may be changed as directed by the Company at any time to promote and support our business and relationships with industry partners. Therefore, this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities :

Be part of the Core Engine Team developing cutting edge rendering technology for our future games

Work with other disciplines to achieve the game’s artistic and performance goals

Analyze, improve, optimize, and debug existing graphics and engine technology and tools

Lead a team of 2 to 3 engineers to accomplish your goals

Write and maintain efficient, readable, and reliable code

Player Profile

Experience

12+ years of experience in the video games industry working as a graphics engineer

Experience with current gen console hardware

Experience mentoring and / or leading other engineers

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of low-level CPU / GPU operations and debugging tools

Fluent in modern C++ and multi-threaded programming

The ability to communicate effectively with non-technical team members

Key Attributes

Work well in a diverse team environment

Experience

Worked on commercial titles – a 60Hz FPS is a plus

Experience with PC and mobile graphics APIs and tools

Public speaking experience

Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $155,500.00 - $287,876.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
