Position Summary
The Assembly Technician applies specialized training and experience in the manufacturing assembly and distribution of the inoRAC family of products, for inoLECT clients, according to inoLECT and customer standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assure that the enterprise and its mission, programs and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to all stakeholders (internal and external). Actively advocate for the organization, its beliefs and its programmatic efforts.
- Assist in achieving all department goals for assembly, distribution and safety related to the inoRAC family of products, according to inoLECT standards and best practices in LEAN manufacturing.
- Safely operate a forklift as required.
- Safely operate any equipment needed to perform job.
- Apply thorough attention to detail during product assembly according to inoLECT standards of quality control.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Time Management for work orders issued through Visual Job Shop software.
- Demonstrate knowledge and continuously improve knowledge of basic power tools, power tool safety, shop safety and inoLECT products.
- Understand and follow applicable equipment and clearance procedures and safety practices.
- Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications, in the time allotted.
- Maintain all required professional and safety certifications for the position of Assembly Technician.
- Properly complete Quality Control forms for all sub-assemblies and final assemblies as instructed.
- Complete tasks delegated by the Production Leader that include but are not limited to : picking up or delivering parts to vendors, loading shipments and following established procedures for assembly tasks.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies, using hand tools and electronic and pneumatic tooling.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Leader.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on tools as required.
- Completes tasks as directed by the manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
- Report and properly document Near Misses to the Production Leader and to Human Resources.
- Participate as part of the Shipping and Receiving Team for inoLECT.
- Demonstrate punctuality for all work and break periods established by the department labor policy.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
Required : High School Diploma or equivalentRequired : Basic knowledge of operation and safe use of common hand tools and power tools.Basic computer skills and familiarity with general business production software preferredMust be able lift and or move up to 50 pounds.Employment Requirements
Adhere to work schedule and be able to work overtime.Maintain appropriate safety certifications and be eligible to obtain a TWIC.Be able to pass a pre-employment and ongoing random employment drug screens.Complete a satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing employment background checks.Be able to work overtime for occasional accelerated production deadlines or volumes.Maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record.Demonstrate high-quality verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate well in English (speaking, listening, writing and reading) and all categories must be in the good range (26-30) on the TOEFL exam if English is a second language.Position Type / Hours
This is a full-time or part-time hourly position. Hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This schedule can change to a 5-day per week schedule. Overtime is sometimes requested.
Travel
Can include long hours driving an inoLECT Fleet Vehicle and towing a trailer, at any time during the year—for special projects—but majority of driving is local for deliveries.Can include air travelSafety is a Core Value with our organization. We work SAFELY or not at all.
