American Traveler is seeking a skilled ICU RN to join a hospital float pool with 2 years of ICU experience and current WA or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level III Trauma Center as part of the hospital's nursing float poolCare for patients in ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, ED holding, and rehab units depending on assignmentPatient diagnoses include respiratory failure, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-ops, CVA, and moreICU assignments have a 1 : 2 patient ratio based on acuityAssigned to 12-hour day shifts with varying weekends depending on unit needsUses Epic EMR system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensingFloating between units within scope of practice is requiredTwo days of hospital orientation and one day on the assigned unit providedTelemetry competency assessment requiredMust adhere to professional dress code; scrubs of any color except camo are allowedHourly rounding, bedside report, patient education, and use of white boards are expected parts of daily dutiesCustomer service, teamwork, and positive attitude are highly valuedCompliance with hospital policies regarding medication safety and documentation is requiredFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyNo holiday time-off requests; up to 5 days of approved time off availableNo personal phones allowed on the unit and breaks are mandated\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license in handCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience requiredExperience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent and invasive line management, ostomy, drains, and trachsEpic EMR experience preferredAbility to float to PCU, Med-Surg, and ED holding units as needed\n Benefits\n
