About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientedEntry-Level Legal Assistantto join our The Jurado Firm team. This role will focus onmatters before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR)and assist with clients indetained proceedings. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and eager to gain hands-on experience in immigration law while supporting attorneys with case preparation and client communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys handling EOIR and detained matters.
- Prepare, organize, and file motions, applications, and supporting documentation with EOIR and DHS.
- Assist in preparing filings for detained clients, including bond packets, motions to reopen, and asylum applications.
- Draft client declarations and gather supporting evidence (e.g., country conditions, expert affidavits, personal records).
- Coordinate with detained clients, their families, and detention facilities regarding case updates, attorney access, and documentation needs.
- Maintain case files and track deadlines to ensure timely submission of filings.
- Translate documents and provide interpretation support during client meetings or attorney-client calls.
- Schedule hearings, attorney visits, and client interviews in detention centers.
- Manage correspondence with EOIR, ICE, and detention facility staff.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience).Skills :Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software (experience with immigration software a plus).Language : Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferredWork Environment : Must be able to handle high-pressure situations, interact with detained clients, and work both independently and collaboratively.What We Offer
