Membership Marketing Manager
WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are seeking a full-time Membership Marketing Manager to join its Membership marketing and fundraising team. This fast-paced and outcomes-driven position is responsible for managing the successful execution of a variety of fundraising campaigns and initiatives. The person in this role will develop marketing strategies to grow and retain the membership base and increase revenue for the organization. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and collaborative self-starter who is energized by metrics and careful campaign management and is passionate about the mission and value of public media.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of direct marketing campaigns across channels (direct mail, email, digital, etc.) to acquire, upgrade, and retain members.
- Translate organizational goals into marketing tactics that build deeper member engagement and maximize revenue.
- Manage all aspects of campaign execution : budget, messaging, creative development, production timelines, segmentation, data pulls, and inventory control.
- Develop and manage cultivation strategies and campaigns that deepen engagement with current members and broader audiences, fostering long-term loyalty and increased support.
- Partner with database operations to leverage member data for strategic segmentation, campaign targeting, and performance analytics.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track KPIs, evaluate outcomes, and generate actional insights to guide future campaigns.
- Manage vendor relationships (print, data, creative, mail houses, fundraising services, etc.) to ensure high-quality and on-time deliverables.
- Work with adjacent departments and functions (member / audience services, database operations, etc.) to maintain quality and integrity of member / audience relationships and database.
- Act as a mentor and resource within the team, providing training and guidance to uphold best practices in direct marketing and campaign execution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills Required :
Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives, adapt to evolving priorities, and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience developing brand-aligned messaging is a plus.Analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into action.Comfort working with CRMs and fundraising databases; experience with Tessitura is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Collaborative spirit with a flexible, solutions-oriented mindset.Passion for the mission and value of public media.Experience : At least three years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or marketing, with proven success managing direct response or membership campaigns.
Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a nonprofit, marketing, or public media setting.
Estimated Salary Range : Starting at $57,000 - $75,000 / annual.
