Financial Aid Assistant

Job Duties
The position reports to the Director of Financial Aid and the Senior Associate Director.
35 hour per week position working Monday - Friday
On campus, student facing position
Processing and Verification : Process documents received and reaches out for additional information to complete Financial Aid files for eligibility for institutional and state / federal aid.
Customer Service and Record Keeping : Answer phone calls and emails from families and greet walk-ins to assist in questions regarding financial aid and required documentation that we request. Log phone calls and email communication.
Notification / Communication : Generates digital and paper copies of Financial Aid Notification letters and revised letters for incoming students, current students and returning students for the upcoming academic year. Assists Admissions team with admitted student packets including Financial Aid notification letters.
Fiscal Management and Record Keeping : Process incoming mail and submit check requests and invoice payments. Documents receipt of outside scholarships in student's financial aid file.
Non-Essential Functions : The job description's listed responsibilities and tasks are not exhaustive, additional non-essential tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
What You Will Bring
Required :
Education : High School Diploma or GED
Preferred, but not required :
Education : Associate's, vocational or technical training
Professional Work Experience : Up to one year of administrative experience; customer service related experience; experience in Higher-Education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Written and oral communication; Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic database software
Office environment, no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.

Salary Range : 16.19-19.05
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
