Senior Accountant
Ocean Spray is hiring for a Senior Accountant! We're a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers. Our manufacturing team is seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to manage month-end reconciliations, prepare and review financial statements, and ensure compliance with GAAP. This role supports audits and quarterly reviews, identifies and resolves reporting issues, and contributes to process improvements for financial reporting accuracy and efficiency.
A Day in the Life...
- Performs month-end general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate monthly recognition and reporting of complex accruals and associated expenses.
- Prepares and / or review month and quarter-end financial statements for assigned areas to ensure accurate reporting and accounting of expenses, income, etc.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP by reviewing the work of support staff in area and applying GAAP to own work products.
- Participates in annual audits and quarterly reviews by providing reporting for areas, including identifying and resolving outstanding issues and drafting segments of reports.
- Reviews reconciliations for selected groups for accuracy and consistency, identifies inaccuracies and directs correction of problem areas.
- Advise business on changes in trends to production order variances including cost & usage analysis and identifying trends.
- Provides recommendations for process improvements to the reporting process.
What We Are Looking For :
Working knowledge of GAAP principlesExperience doing financial reporting and financial statement production for a corporate entityDetail orientedHighly proficient with general ledger systems and report writer, database and spreadsheet softwareHigh level of verbal and written communication, as well as teamwork and collaboration skillsEducation : Bachelor's or University Degree (Required)
