Founded in 1974, Community Access continues to uphold and operate as a pioneer of supportive housing and social services in NYC for people with mental health concerns. We proudly lead advocacy efforts that rally our community to promote human rights, social justice, and economic opportunities for all. Our programs are spread across 25 locations and include over 1200 units of supportive housing in three boroughs, the Howie the Harp Advocacy Center, Peer-driven Crisis Respite Center, Adult Home Initiative, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and the Intensive Mobile Team (IMT).
Department Overview
Community Access provides affordable housing and supportive services to individuals with psychiatric disabilities, histories of homelessness and substance use, and other low income community members. The Property Management department acts as the managing agent for buildings that Community Access (CA) developer, owns or controls. The Property Management department is responsible for lease maintenance, rent collection, property financial reports and compliance with government regulations (such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, HOME, and Housing Trust Fund). Specifically, the maintenance staff is responsible for supporting Community Access’ vision, mission and values by delivering excellent customer service in meeting the maintenance needs of the organization, working closely with all levels of staff to address and respond to their needs in a professional and timely manner.
Overview :
Under the supervision of the Regional Building Superintendent, the Maintenance Mechanic assists with maintaining agency apartments and facilities as needed and directed by the Bronx Regional Building Superintendent. Assistance includes cleaning, disinfection, trash removal and other building maintenance tasks, as well as minor repair in the areas of masonry, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and overall maintenance of residential building systems.
