We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a long-term contract position within the construction industry, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and skill development. The role combines both in-office and remote work, providing flexibility once the initial training period is completed.
Responsibilities :
- Process and close settlement statements in the Lawson system, ensuring accurate recognition of revenue, inventory, and cost of sales.
- Assist the team in meeting daily goals by managing a set number of home closings, gradually increasing responsibilities as proficiency grows.
- Perform accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks to support financial operations.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Code invoices accurately and maintain organized records for auditing purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and achieve monthly targets.
- Utilize Excel for basic data parsing and learn advanced functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPs as needed.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance accounting skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or active pursuit of such a degree.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles; no advanced debits / credits knowledge required.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Lawson is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation tasks.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
- Basic Excel skills, with the ability to parse and organize data effectively.
- Availability to work a hybrid schedule, including in-office and remote days.
