Project Manager - Powertrain Automation Systems (U.S. Citizens & Green Card Holders ONLY)
We are seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of our Powertrain Automation systems , specifically focusing on Automated machining lines and machine tending applications . The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from design through manufacturing, building, and final integration, ensuring delivery within budget and on schedule .
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Project Lifecycle : Drive the project through all phases : design, manufacturing, building, and integration milestones for complex Powertrain Automation systems.
- Budget & Timeline Management : Take full responsibility for managing projects to meet strict budget and project timeline constraints.
- Risk Mitigation : Proactively identify and manage areas of risk within customer specifications, proposals, and contract documents.
- Team Leadership : Lead and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Electricians, and technicians throughout all project phases.
- Customer & Corporate Alignment : Skillfully balance competing interests, ensuring both customer accountability and corporate goals are met.
- Issue Resolution : Possess the ability to quickly resolve issues and manage all tasks to completion.
- Change Management : Concept, write, and quote After Sales Change Order Requests (OCR).
- Documentation & Reporting : Write periodic customer and corporate reports and assist with the writing / review of machine manuals.
- On-site Leadership : Lead Debug, Run-off, Installation, training, and startup efforts at customer sites.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical & Automation Expertise
Demonstrated experience in Industrial Automation and Robotics (required).Familiarity with Powertrain automation systems.Proficiency with PLC systems (required).Mechanical Aptitude : Ability to check, understand mechanical drawings, and recognize sound mechanical design.Design Tools : Good AutoCAD experience and the ability to use 3D viewers to review and understand designs.Relevant Automation Technologies Experience :CNC Machine Load / UnloadFastening, Marking, Testing, and Vision systems.Relevant Automation Platforms Experience (ideally includes exposure to) :Cartesian Gantry systemsArticulating Robotic & Robot rail systemsVarious conveyors and part conveying systemsOrientation, inspection devicesPneumatic & Servo Pick & Places devicesProfessional & Leadership Skills
Project Management : Proven ability to manage projects within budget and time constraints.Negotiation : Strong negotiating skills.Problem-Solving : Ability to resolve issues and manage tasks to completion.Communication : Solid written and oral communication skills.Math Literacy : Comfort working with cost management, budgeting, and project statistics.Qualifications
Education : Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.Experience :(3) years of Mechanical Engineer experience.(2) additional years of dedicated Project Management experience.Additional Requirements
Work Ethic : Must have a strong work ethic, often requiring a 50-hour work week .Availability : Must be able to work nights and weekends and variable schedule(s) as project needs dictate.Travel : Intermittent travel to customer sites is required.Software Proficiency : Proficient in MS Word, Office, Excel & Project (or equivalent skills).Logistics : Required to have a valid driving license with a clean driving record.✅ U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Required.
