Our New Teammate
The Project Manager is a position within our PMO. The PM will spend a majority of their time focused on projects to support our various Service Divisions. The PM will work very closely with the engineering team and functional managers, become a specialist in our internal processes, partner closely with the technical resources, and overall be responsible for the delivery of our Infrastructure projects.
You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following :
- 80% of the time on Objective 1 : Project Delivery
- 20% of the time on Objective 2 : Growth and Development
Job Responsibilities - What to Expect
Manage Client and Agency Infrastructure projectsWork with Infrastructure Engineers, Client Engineering and Operational Resource managers to coordinate resource allocation for Client Infrastructure projects throughout the PRB and delivery process.Follow Project Management standards from PMO and PMGO as apply to the Program.Document all project artifacts in ServiceNowGather and document client requirementsSet up the project in Skyline SOAR systemsCoordinate project work, communications, escalation and priorities across divisions as needed for projects that require cross divisional supportLead Project related client status meetings, operational transition, lessons learned and project closeoutDevelop work breakdown structures, schedules, major milestone roadmaps, communication plans, test plans, change control plans, and overall project plansPerform day-to-day management of assigned projects, identify issues and risks and escalate quickly to management when neededResponsible for ensuring that work performed is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budgetSet and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholdersIdentify and pursue ways to improve Infrastructure staff skillsets, tools and technologies to benefit the Skyline clientWork with the PMO Director, Program Manager and the Infrastructure Director to enhance and mature our Infrastructure delivery practices.Work with PM staff to help grow their understanding of Infrastructure based projects.Your Knowledge & Expertise
BS / BA Degree requiredPMI Project Manager Professional certified.Over 5 years’ experience working in Technology Infrastructure Implementation projects (required) in a PM or Leadership roleOver 5 years working either for or with the State of MD and / or DoIT related projects (preferred)Drive for ResultsModel continuous learning mindset“Ownership”, Personal Accountability
