Overview

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects writing tutors with students nationwide for online, one-on-one instruction. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from home.

Responsibilities

Provide personalized, online 1-on-1 tutoring sessions in Writing.
Use the Live Learning Platform to connect with students, including real-time instructional support and engagement features.
Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.
Adapt lessons to different learning styles and student needs to achieve learning goals.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.

Expertise in Writing with the ability to explain concepts clearly.

Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.

Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Compensation and Benefits

Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40 / hour with same student progression.

Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.

Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.

Tutor remotely using our platform—no commuting required.

We match you with students suited to your teaching style and expertise.

AI-powered Tutor Copilot provides real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time.

We handle logistics; you invoice for sessions and we process payments.

Eligibility and Restrictions

Please note : Varsity Tutors does not contract with tutors in : Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Puerto Rico. We do not contract in : Alaska, California, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Puerto Rico.
