The Fresh Cut Manufacturing Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for preparing and coordinating the shipping of fresh-cut products to customers or retailers. This position involves ensuring the products are packed securely, the shipments are accurately labeled, and all necessary paperwork is completed in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Inspect fresh-cut products to ensure quality and proper packaging.
Verify product quantities and types against shipping orders.Use scanners or inventory management systems to track and label shipments.Packaging & Labeling :Pack products in accordance with company standards to ensure safe transportation.
Apply correct labeling and barcodes to each package, ensuring all required information is visible (e.g., expiration dates, product codes, weight).Ensure proper packaging materials are used to maintain product freshness and safety.Documentation :Complete all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, inventory forms, and shipping manifests.
Prepare export documentation (if applicable), including customs forms and certificates of origin.Keep accurate records of shipments and inventory levels.Shipping Coordination :Coordinate with transportation carriers to schedule pickups and delivery times.
Ensure the timely and efficient movement of products to meet customer demand.Manage shipping deadlines to ensure products arrive on time.Quality Assurance :Adhere to quality control standards to ensure products meet customer specifications.
Report any product discrepancies or damages and assist in investigating the cause.Perform routine checks on packaging materials to ensure compliance with food safety standards.Safety Compliance :Follow all company and industry-specific safety protocols.
Ensure that the workplace is clean and safe, and that all equipment is properly maintained.Handle all products and equipment according to food safety regulations.Inventory Management :Assist with inventory management by tracking shipped products and maintaining stock levels.
Communicate with the warehouse team to ensure inventory is replenished as needed.Report any discrepancies between physical stock and system records.Qualifications :
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably in a food manufacturing or fresh-cut environment.Bachelor degree with Business Administration, or job experience valid with 2-3 years with similar positionsBasic knowledge of shipping procedures, inventory management systems, and packaging requirements.Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Basic computer skillsExcellent communication skills for interacting with team members and carriers.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.Skills & Abilities :
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification may be required).Proficiency with inventory management software or shipping tools.Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.Work Environment :
The job is typically performed in a refrigerated or climate-controlled environment to ensure the freshness of the products.Exposure to noise, cold temperatures, and fast-paced working conditions is common.Physical Requirements :Ability to lift, carry, or move heavy boxes and packages.
Frequent standing, bending, and walking may be required.Must be able to work under tight deadlines and handle the pressure of meeting shipping timelines.
