At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
We are looking for an aerospace systems engineer to help craft the gas system for the Lunar Transporter spacecraft. Work will include the complete life cycle of the gas sub-system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operations. This position goes from initial design, to analyzing, to getting hardware, launching, and operating in space.
A successful candidate will understand fluid systems, systems engineering practices, fluid dynamics, and compressible flow for space vehicles.
The position will work under a lead engineer accountable for requirements, subsystem testing, ground, launch, and mission CONOPS for the gas system. You will support systems engineering responsibilities and aid responsible engineers subsystem flow down working will vehicle and mission groups. The position will be responsible for subsystem requirements, CONOPS flow downs, states and modes, interface management, and other systems engineering duties.
The position will work directly on our Transporter Vehicle within the Lunar Permanence Business Unit. Bring your technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
