A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN IT, AI Engineer

A typical day for an AI Engineer in this role involves designing and fine-tuning large language models, developing agent-based systems to automate workflows and decision-making, and collaborating with stakeholders to identify business needs. The majority of this role's time will be focused on discovering, evaluating, and deploying generative AI tools that streamline business processes, including researching new frameworks, testing feasibility through proof-of-concepts, and implementing them into production workflows. The AI Engineer will also integrate these tools into existing systems to improve efficiency and productivity, while ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable, and aligned with governance standards. In addition, they monitor deployed models for performance, address issues such as drift or bias, maintain MLOps pipelines, and document workflows to support cross-team communication, all while staying engaged with emerging AI trends.
