Responsibilities

The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) will participate in the on-call rotation covering ten calendar dates a month. There is a daily rate and a visit rate based on type of visit.

The on-call rotation is includes a weekend, plus 8 additional shifts a month. PRN as needed if available

At Enhabit Hospice, our RNs work with patients, their families, and other health care professionals during the final stages of patients' lives.

Our nurses must be capable of compassionate communication with patients and families, have keen observation skills, high ethical standards, and knowledge of when to alert doctors and others about changes in patients' conditions.

Our RNs will work in private homes, residential care facilities, nursing centers, and other hospice care environments and may supervise licensed vocational / practical nurses and nursing aides.

Administer skilled care to patients requiring intermittent professional services. Teach the patient, family, and other members of the health care team.

Perform services in accordance with the physician’s orders and the established plan of care (POC).

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Must be a graduate of an approved school of clinical education.
• Must be licensed in the state where they currently practice.
• Must have at least one year experience as a licensed professional.
• Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.
• Experience as a licensed professional may be deferred with a review and approval from the regional vice president or regional director.
• Medicare home health or hospice experience is preferred.
• Must possess a valid state driver license
• Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law
• Must maintain dependable transportation in good working condition
• Must be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions
• Must possess CPR certification for the healthcare provider
