The Assistant General Manager of the Reno Division will be responsible for demonstrating the Producers Dairy Core Values and helping to live our purpose of Nourishing Lives.

Some travel will be required.

Essential Functions :

This position is responsible for :

  • Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
  • Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
  • Embraces our Purpose and behaves in a manner consistent with our Core Values.
  • Challenges the current business processes and directs leadership to eliminate loss by reducing non-value-added activities.

Implement and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

You will Learn to :

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for the Division.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial approach toward strategic growth.
  • Foster a collaborative partnership with all departments including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources and the SES Leadership Team.
  • Expected to develop a collaborative relationship with fellow General Managers and other divisional department leaders with a sense of teamwork approach.
  • Responsible for developing team of highly productive and engaged teams in a manner to provide development and succession planning.
  • In collaboration with, and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • In collaboration with the VP of Sales develops and recommends product assortment, positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.

Actively involved in the 3-to-5-year vision of capital projects as well as monitoring and managing the execution of capital projects to be on budget and completed on time.

  • Achieves satisfactory profit / loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
  • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Monitors competitor products and sales activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Guides preparation of sales activity reports and presents to executive management.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly. Directs talent, training, and performance management to develop and control sales program.
  • Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • Promotes and maintains company teamwork in all areas. Assists others and performs other tasks as appropriate and / or necessary.

Helps promote the positive image of the company in the trade.

  • Adheres to all applicable Federal, State, County and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of milk and dairy products.
  • Participate and present Town Hall discussions as to the state of the Model Dairy business.
  • Coach and mentor a diverse Team Member group treating them the way you want to be treated.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Minimum :

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Sales or related field. Commensurate training and experience may satisfy this requirement or 7+ years in a progressive leadership role within the industry.
  • Must have proven track record of strategic level creativity and problem solving, including high-level analytical skills to drive data driven decisions.
  • Strong critical thinker who encourages and develops the same skills in direct reports.
  • Confident, persuasive and influential leadership skills.
  • Foster and drive an action-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong business acumen and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong Sales & Customer focus.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop and influence.
