Job Summary
As a Network and IT Engineer III you will help build and evolve our network and IT engineering practice by developing and evolving our infrastructure, processes, tooling, and automation.
You will work to ensure that our network infrastructure across our locations and clouds is resilient and secure, as well as managing and improving our internal IT systems.
With a strong background in network engineering, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and resolving network design weaknesses, prioritizing troubleshooting efforts and pinpointing resolutions to complex issues across our employee base, working in partnership with our product teams.
You will create and engineer solutions for internal IT, focusing on removing friction and complexity, while maintaining and enforcing business and security policies.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in network engineering, Active Directory, O365, Azure , core computing services and desktop support.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing ongoing medium to high complexity maintenance, Run-The-Business (RTB) support and act as a technical backstop for incident / service requests related to network infrastructure
- Maintain and optimize existing office and cloud network infrastructure and remote access solutions
- Monitor network and IT system availability and performance
- Plan, design, and implement network and IT solutions in partnership with IT, security, and cloud engineering teams
- Provide technical direction and guidance to team members and recommendations for process improvement to management.
- Provide knowledge sharing, as a recognized SME, in the form of efforts such as writing complex knowledge articles, relationship development with staff, mentoring, and staff technical development.
- Active Directory and O365 Administration : Maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory, Office 365 environments to provide seamless support and services.
- Partner with cloud engineering & architects to design and manage cloud network services and infrastructure on Azure and AWS platforms to enable reliable and efficient internal connectivity
- Partner with the IT Helpdesk team to provide solutions and guidance to better support end users
- Performing complex technical troubleshooting, determining root causes, and providing resolution to issues.
- Work independently and proactively solve problems without being directed by others.
- Mentorship and training for other team members from a technical and process perspective.
Requirements
- In-depth understanding of TCP / IP, layer 4-8 protocols, layer 3 routing protocols
- Proficiency and expertise with on-premise network hardware like Meraki, Cisco, Palo Alto
- Proficiency and expertise with SaaS remote access / zero trust solutions like Palo Alto Prisma Cloud, Global Protect VPN
- Proficiency and expertise with Microsoft based infrastructure and core computing services (Active Directory, DNS, IIS)
- Experience and technical understanding with Okta or a similar identity management platform.
- Desired : Experience with scripting or programming languages like PowerShell, Python, or others
- Desired : Experience managing public cloud platforms including AWS and Azure
- Desired : Network certifications including CCNP, CCNE, Palo Alto
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems / technology, Computer Science, a related field in technical engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering, IT systems engineering, public cloud, or related roles
