Job Location : Baltimore or greater Philadelphia area.

Job Description :

This role will work in a collaborative team with our Aerostat team to :

• Perform subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation (coding), subsystem and system integration and tests for a subsystem.
• Participate in software requirement review, preliminary and critical design, integration readiness review, and software acceptance review.
• Research problems discovered by quality assurance, product support or customer, and develop solutions to the problems.
• Support proposal efforts.
• Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects during frequent interorganizational and outside customer contacts.
• Collaborate with and mentor software and integration engineers to establish and drive operational acceptance criteria for projects and features.
• Work alongside the team to increase quality, resiliency, reduce risk, and drive efficiencies in development, release, and operational tasks.
• Support the bridge between Information Technology and the Development Operations, working with IT closely on managing systems, VMs, and other aspects of the IT portion of the DevOps process.

Qualifications :

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications :

• Minimum of 7 years professional technical experience in Software System and Subsystem Requirements analysis, development, documentation, and validation of integrated systems, Aerospace / Defense systems, or commercial systems.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Required experience in or with :
• DevOps pipelines, large scale software development, maintenance, or support of software programs. GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket experience required (additional experience with command-line and Linux OS preferred).
• Experience administering git version control systems, git, and VMWare.
• Developing with the Python language, gcc / g++, Java, Ada experience preferred.
• Make software systems in *nix (large scale compiling and releasing languages programming).
• Reviewing compiler output and identifying errors.
• Developing software with Agile development methodologies.
• Designing, implementing and operating build & release automation and continuous integration and deployment.
• Managing operational monitoring, metrics, and logging systems.
• Scripting / automation development skills.
• Demonstrated history of seeking out and bringing in new ideas.
• Unix system administration skills preferably in a container-focused environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience releasing software and interfacing with customers and QA preferred.
• Enthusiasm for collaborative, iterative development, high quality, and robust systems.

Ability to design and implement robust and maintainable utilities.

US citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Secret Government Clearance.
