Insurance Defense Partner Attorney

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Litigator to join our team. As a successful candidate, you will manage and lead the entire legal process, with a team of associates and paralegals.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills, effective communication abilities, and experience in insurance defense litigation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Engaged Legal Professional :
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the legal process from initial investigation through trial preparation and court proceedings.
• Represent clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements as required, ensuring client interests are well-represented and protected.
• Strategic Partner :
• Conduct thorough research on applicable laws, regulations, and case precedents to develop effective legal strategies for each stage of litigation.
• Collaborate with claims representatives and insured clients to share legal strategies and insights, providing guidance and support throughout the litigation process.
• People Person :
• Build and maintain strong relationships with claims representatives, insured clients, and other key stakeholders.
• Occasionally conduct training sessions for Legal, Claims, or other departments to share knowledge and enhance understanding of legal processes and procedures.
• Engage with diverse communities and ensure that all perspectives are valued and considered in legal strategies.
• Effective Communicator :
• Develop and present clear, concise, and actionable legal opinions and strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and other court filings with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Insurance Defense Litigator Experience :
• Demonstrate proven experience as an insurance defense litigator, with a track record of handling complex cases and achieving favorable outcomes.
• Time Management :
• Be familiar with billable hours and proficient in capturing and documenting time worked to ensure accurate billing and compliance with firm policies.

Requirements :

• Legal Bar Certification : Must be currently barred in New York.
• 7-10 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
• High proficiency in legal drafting and effective communication.
• Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with legal case management software and tools.
