Position Summary : One of the largest global producers of consumer products is looking to bring on a Senior Development Scientist-Materials at their Sheboygan, Wisconsin site.

As the Senior Development Scientist, you will lead the innovation, design, and commercialization of non-woven substrates, as well as work alongside the Product Category Team to ensure the successful launch of projects and anticipate future substrate requirements.

Additionally, you will create protocols for qualifying new vendors and overseeing trials at suppliers and in-house converting.

You will have the opportunity to work for a billion-dollar company and partner with Fortune 500 brands to bring innovation to market.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the innovation and development of new and improved non-woven substrates in collaboration with existing suppliers and upstream developers to meet business objectives
  • Plan and direct technical project activities, including trials and discussions with raw material suppliers, while managing project timelines and expectations with internal teams
  • Develop protocols for qualifying new vendors, perform converting process validations, and manage raw material specification approval processes
  • Partner with various business lines to create strategies for products, and identifying and evaluate university research resources for potential collaboration on global product / material projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
  • 4+ years experience in the nonwovens, paper, or pulp industry in one or more of the following functions : Research & Development, Product or Process Development, Converting, or Engineering
  • Understanding of statistics, business systems, category strategy, and be able to recommend nonwovens to deliver on business category needs
