JOB SUMMARY The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a summer semester intern to support the Finance and Accounting department.
The Finance & Accounting Intern will have an opportunity to work closely with experienced accountants, performing the day-to-day activities in areas of basic accounting functions including compilation of financial information, journal entry processing, reconciliations, and the analysis of data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with preparation of schedules required for financial statement audit.
- Assist with preparation of 990 and other tax returns for various entities.
- Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Initiates and processes journal entries into various accounts; Reconciles accounts as required and resolves differences.
- Perform analyses on various balance sheet accounts such as prepaids, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Uses various software tools such as spreadsheets and databases to provide supporting documentation for schedules and journal entries.
- Provides financial information as required to management.
- Conducts research across respective disciplines.
- Assists in developing ideas to improve processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of basic Finance principles and procedures including accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting.
- Skilled in using Excel and other financial software for data analysis.
- Skilled in written and oral communication.
- Skilled in problem solving with a solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to be proactive, have excellent organizational skills, and perform efficiently.
- Ability and willingness to gain expertise and perform work in new areas.
INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited College or University.
- Progress toward a degree, major, or minor in Finance or Accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,)
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application.
- Must be junior or senior level. Grad students and recent grads will be considered.
PROJECTED INTERNSHIP SCHEDULE
- Internship Duration : June 2025 to August 2025
- Work Hours : Monday to Friday, 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM
