The salary range for this position is $56,250 - $75,000 Depends on Experience
Note : This is not a remote position.
Summary
Ability to analyze and resolve process and system related problems, develop root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Candidate may have some experience with vendor management to help ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, garnishments compliance and payroll tax filing.
Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working under minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Data input of payroll related items into current payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Download data from timekeeping system.
- Perform payroll processing including prevailing wages.
- Generate and analyze biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports utilizing the current payroll system.
- Compile Ad Hoc reporting for executive team, managers, and other requesting departments.
- Review and analyze quarterly tax filings and year-end W-2's from current payroll system and make adjustments as necessary.
- Analyze and prepare monthly and annual reports of company paid fuel usage for W-2 reporting including sending letters to employees.
- Perform research on payroll related issues, including but not limited to tax withholding, overtime, 401(k) deferrals, loans, LOA's, garnishments and COBRA for various states.
- Keep abreast of current SOX controls and compile audit data for auditors.
- Assist with audits, month end closing and special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years progressive payroll experience with a large or mid-level public company with 500+ employees is preferred.
Education and / or Experience
Minimum of high school diploma is required. A four-year degree is preferred but not required if 5+ years of related experience applies.
Strong knowledge of multi-state wage and hour and tax laws.
Familiarity with calculation of income in connection with disqualifying dispositions of Incentive Stock Options and Non-Qualifying Stock Options for W-2 year-end reporting.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven inclination to implement successful solutions.
High level of integrity & confidentiality.
Develop and document payroll process and procedures.
APA participation required.
Language Skills
English language, spoken and written is required. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information or training in one-on-one and group situations to other employees and managers of the organization and clients.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions, percentages, and balances. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several interacting variables in standardized payroll situations.
Computer Skills
Advanced computer skills including; MS Word and Excel.
