Job Description
Senior Accountant is a senior level accounting position responsible for month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with a high level of complexity.
This is an accounting support position in a fast paced centralized accounting services environment providing financial services to community associations throughout North America.
Candidates for this position must meet Associa’s credit requirements.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- Full Accrual Accounting.
- Month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities with a high level of complexity.
- Able to perform departmental accounting functions and strong working knowledge of fund accounting principles.
- Process and review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations with extensive investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deferrals, accruals, payroll liabilities, and reserves.
- Develop amortization and depreciation schedules.
- Develop and maintain supporting schedules and reports as requested.
- Budget development assistance and administration.
- Perform Year End close.
- Support community Association Managers (CAM) and Branch Client Accounting Specialists (CAS), and Association Board of Directors (BOD) as requested.
- Work with supporting departments (Accounts Receivable (A / R), Accounts Payable (A / P), Data Management, Delinquency, Tax and Banking Team) on issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain complex payroll and other schedules in Excel at an advanced level.
- Occasional work on weekends may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Internal company balancing.
- Ability to interpret and apply industry related law.
- Able to manage multiple entities, meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Departmental accounting functions.
- Experienced in budget development and implementation.
- Microsoft Office, Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Complete Control for Communities (C3) and Microsoft D365 software, preferred but not required.
- Understanding of, or experience in, the Community Association Management Industry, preferred but not required.
- Understanding of working in an Accounting Shared Services Center. environment, preferred but not required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 5-years full-cycle accounting experience or Master’s degree and 3-years full-cycle accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) guidelines.

Wage Range : $30 - $32 per hour depending on experience.
