We are an established commercial general contractor in the Chicagoland and greater Milwaukee areas that has been building for over 100 years.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to valuing the relationships we mold with our clients and customers. We have built a wide range of projects throughout our history, but our main focus has been on commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, and multifamily construction.

Job Details

Responsibilities

As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to :

1. Overseeing all stages of project life cycle management including project planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

2. Negotiating contracts with architects, vendors, contractors and other workers.

3. Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

4. Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.

5. Directing and supervising construction workers and subcontractors.

6. Implementing effective cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.

7. Resolving contract disputes and design problems that may arise during the construction process.

8. Leading and managing project teams to ensure optimal performance and productivity.

9. Preparing and presenting project updates to relevant stakeholders, including clients and senior management.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for the Construction Project Manager position should possess the following qualifications :

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project management or a related field.

2. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.

3. Proven experience in project management and construction management.

4. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

5. Strong knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting principles.

6. Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts.

7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and manage teams effectively.

8. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

10. Proficiency in project management software tools and MS Office Suite.
