Job Title : Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Job Specialty : Emergency Room Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hour Variable Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years general experience required, with at least 1 year of Emergency Department experience License : Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI (preferred) Must-Have : - Ability to float routinely between Emergency Department and Med / Surg units- Proficient in IV skills and central line management- Experience with cardiac drips with titration- Comfortable with nebulizer treatments and high flow O2- Ability to mix own medication via video conference with pharmacy Job Description : - Handle emergency situations involving all age groups, including stroke, myocardial infarction (MI), trauma, sepsis, septic shock, and gunshot wounds- Provide outpatient infusions and manage various patient diagnoses, including pneumonia (PNA), COVID-19, long-term antibiotics, endocarditis, comfort care, alcohol (ETOH) withdrawal, hyponatremia, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and atrial fibrillation (Afib)- Maintain patient ratios of 1 : 5 in the Emergency Department, and 1 : 5-6 acuity dependent in Med / Surg- Collaborate effectively with a team that includes an RN, mid-level provider, physician, and at times, EMT staff- Utilize EPIC ASAP for Emergency Department and EPIC for Med / Surg charting- Participate in weekend rotation every other weekend- Be on-call during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally- Work every other holiday- Wear Navy Blue scrubs
