Overview :
Student employee will provide customer service and office / faculty support. Students in this role will be generally trained on customer service and office tasks.
A typical day could include staffing front desks and answering phones or assisting the division office as needed.

Schedule Flexibility :
Student schedule will fluctuate based on what assignments are accepted / refused. Once accepted, students are expected to follow through with their determined schedule with minimal adjustments.
Position Expectations :
Desk / space coverage, working independently on projects, extensive workflow, confidentiality
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes :
- Greet and direct students and visitors to offices based on individual's needs (PF)
- Provide office support including filing, scanning, shredding and copying. (CM)
- Answer incoming calls and direct calls to respective departments. (CM)
- Make sure Faculty Office (Room 112) is organized. (CM)
- Load paper in the copier in Room 114 and student lounge in the Lee Center (TW)
- Check pencil supply in the cabinet and sharpen if needed. (PF)
- Clean / organize your work area including drawers and top of desk. (PF)
- Run office errands if needed (CM)

Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities) :
- Student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- At time of hire the student has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or first semester enrolled at Oakton.
- Student can show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Student is making satisfactory progress toward achieving their educational goals.
- Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.
- Friendly, flexible, organized, courteous, and punctuality a must.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong detail orientation preferred.
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office and Google technology (GSUITE) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Some evening hours.
