Are you a graphic designer looking for an opportunity to make a real impact on life-saving work through your art? JDC is seeking a well-rounded graphic designer with both print and web design experience to work closely with writers, web developers, and the creative director to execute comprehensive graphic design projects for a global Jewish humanitarian organization.
The ideal candidate will have excellent typography and composition skills and a knack for organizing complex content into clean but engaging layouts that follow brand guidelines.
Extreme attention to detail is a must.

This crucial role is sole graphic designer within JDC, and will have a significant opportunity to make an impact on JDC’s visuals across the organization.
What will you do as a Senior Graphic Designer?
- Organize complex content into clean, engaging layouts that convey JDC’s mission and brand
- Design print-based collateral such as annual reports and mail invitations, environmental collateral for events such as banners and signs, and web-based material including landing pages, emails, and social media graphics
- Design graphics and content for all social media platforms
- Work closely with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications team to develop content everyone can get behind
- Direct video art for JDC videos
- Build infographics focused on aspects of JDC’s work to alleviate hunger and hardship, rescue Jews in danger, create lasting connections to Jewish life, and provide immediate relief for victims of natural and man-made disasters
- Develop Microsoft Word and PowerPoint templates for JDC’s brand
- Learn technologies and software used by JDC and the MarCom department
- Work with external vendors to produce print collateral to specifications on deadlines
- Familiarize yourself with JDC’s global mission and work
- Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time
What qualifications are required to be our Senior Graphic Designer?
- 6-10 years of professional design experience in either an agency or in-house environment
- Print and Web layout experience required
- Proficiency with Adobe’s InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator required
- Strong typography and composition skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to balance confidence in your own expertise with value for the input and feedback of coworkers; Ability to thrive in an environment of open debate and discussion
- Patience, relational skills, and customer-orientation, for both internal clients and external partners
- Comfort working with colleagues at all levels, and ability to communicate concisely and respectfully with senior management
- Strong work ethic and reliability; ability to stay connected to various team members across projects on both in-office and work-from-home days
- Comfort with technology and change, willing to learn the tools and systems needed to carry a design through to a finished product
- Verbal communication skills, ability to communicate in person or over the telephone
- Ability to read words and numbers
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
Additional Preferred Skills and Competencies :
- BA or MA in Graphics or Visual Communication Design
- Experience with and knowledge of social media graphics
- Proficiency with presentations in PowerPoint and Word
- Illustration skills
- Passion for humanitarian work and / or global Jewish service strongly preferred

What are the compensation and benefits for a Senior Graphic Designer?
This is a full-time position paid semi-monthly at a salary of $80,000-$90,000 per year; in determining where a candidate falls in that range JDC considers several factors, including skills and experience, internal equity, and cost of living in location of work.
This role is exempt per the FLSA.
