Who we need
Our Faculty of Behavioral Sciences has started hiring for course openings in Winter 2025. We are seeking Adjunct / Part Time Professors to teach within our Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program.
There will be training provided prior to being assigned a teaching schedule.
With an earned doctoral degree in Counselling, Psychology, or related field from a recognized university, and at least five years in the field of Counselling Psychology or a related profession, you will deliver university courses at the graduate level.
You will draw on the most recent research and practices in Canadian counselling and psychology, and demonstrate sensitivity and education in equality, diversity, inclusion and decolonization and its impact on the field and teaching.
This is a remote opportunity, using Moodle as an online delivery platform.
You will be asked to provide a current Clinical License along with Official Transcript from the Doctorate institution.
What you will do
- Teaching facilitating counselling psychology theory and skills courses
- Fostering student success through ongoing support and coaching
- Managing discussion forums and learning activities through the Moodle platform
- Timely marking and feedback for all student assessments
- Respond to student inquiries and concerns
- Participate in University and Program level committees
- Perform administrative tasks related to the course
- Support strategic program growth and ensure ongoing self-development in the field
What you bring
- A conferred Doctorate degree in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or related field
- Active clinical practice license
- Teaching experience at graduate level as well as experience using the Moodle online delivery platform is a strong asset
- Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal
