Sr. Generator Field Service Technician (contract to direct hire)
- Demonstrate ability to conduct standard preventative maintenance on UPS equipment without supervision.
- Understand the different UPS topologies. Have a working knowledge of how to place UPS systems into bypass and bring them back to normal operation.
Be able to identify and be familiar with the operation of UPS’s from several major manufacturers.
- Conduct battery testing using battery test equipment. Get familiar with the major battery manufacturers and be able to calculate back-up runtime using the UPS KVA rating and identifying the number of parallel strings of batteries with their Amp-hour ratings.
- Remove and Install batteries, understanding the proper handling required.
- Prepare Service Reports and provide analysis and conclusion of battery section.
- Perform analysis and conduct bench repairs on modular power units.
- Assist others on job site when required collect data, take meter readings, hand over tools, remove access panels, etc.
- Keep tools in good repair and organized. Collaborate with owners about maintaining adequate supplies or replacing / repairing / calibrating test equipment.
Pay range : $30-$40 / HR
