Starting Pay Range - $16.41 - $17.80 / hr

Position Description :

Perform reception duties to include greeting, checking in, directing visitors, answering and coordinating clinic and / or medical appointments.

Collect co-pays and insurance information.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Answer incoming NS calls on main clinic number within three rings.
  • Screen and direct inquiries to the appropriate agency staff or program.
  • Take and route written messages as needed.
  • Greet clients and visitors to the clinic and notify appropriate staff of their arrival.
  • Arrange Medical Transportation
  • Verify client personal data and provide required paperwork to clients as needed (status changes)
  • Collect co-pays and insurance information.
  • Coordinate and collect necessary information / documentation to facilitate treatment.
  • Monitor lobby as needed.
  • Make reminder calls for clients appointments.
  • Opening and closing duties assigned to clinic.
  • Maintain necessary computer and hard copy files.
  • Medication registry & community records - Date stamp all records in pink file and put in CMA box
  • Hospital Records Date stamp all records in nurses box or if patient is waiting give records directly to nurse

Non-essential Job Functions :

  • Supports agency mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and community at large, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensing and Experience :

  • High school diploma
  • Previous reception experience or specialized training required.
  • Experience with co-pays and insurance billing preferred.
  • Strong customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills, automated appointment scheduling and word processing experience preferred.
  • This is a typical outpatient medical department environment; which is fast-paced and changes from minute to minute depending on the issues and severity of the clients
