Position Overview
The SCIEX Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing Sciex products at both internal and external customer sites, including our strategic accounts.
This position works independently to resolve all assigned customer and technical issues and mentors less experienced staff members.
This position is part of the Field Technical Service organization and is based in Los Angeles, CA, and is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance on mass spectrometers, HPLC, and / or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation with a solid understanding of Sciex or competitive products.
- Perform qualification services and customer training, ensuring customer satisfaction at strategic accounts.
Essential Requirements
Associate’s degree (A.S. / A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S. / B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent experience (i.
e., Military Certificates in electronics or avionics).
- 3+ years of experience with LCMS and / or capillary electrophoresis, with prior experience using and / or servicing mass spectrometry or scientific instrumentation.
- Ability to travel 25% overnight travel, within territory or locations including : North Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Juan Capistrano.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 lbs, along with the ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot and follow problem-solving procedures.
- Experience with electrical and electromechanical technology and follow all required safety protocols.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range for this role is $38.50-$41.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
This role is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.
